Port Orford, circa 1900
View of 6th st., now highway 101, of
the business district of Port Orford in
the mid 20's.  Note the Zeroline and
Red Crown Gasoline signs!
Circa 1900 photo from Coast Guard
Hill, of the small port town of Port
Oford, on the southern Oregon coast.
Small lumber ship calling at Port Orford
early in the 1900's.  Note the "pony
truss" sections of the dock, built like
several bridges!
Large tank beind delivered to a mill on
the Elk River. Until the 1920's, there
really was no other practical way to
get to Port Orford, as the coast
highway, was mostly mud.  So,
everything came by ship.
View from just above the location of
the Crazy Norwiegian's looking north
over the town of Port Orford.
