The Northern Pacific assigned letters to denote various locomotive wheel arrangements.  These were arbitrary, and changed as
classes were retired.  The letter designation was followed by a number, to denote a different model of the same wheel arrangement.

The photos were taken on the west end in the 20th century, mostly in the 1930's through the late 1950's.  Many classes did not
appear in this area, so not all are represented!

This is a work in progress!  As I can, I'll add photos of the various locomotives.  Each class will have it's own page, linked to the
photo and class type below.
