Class L-9 0-6-0 switch engine's were assigned to
both switching and sometime powered the
"Moclips Local". This could be from either, as the
local went to Ocosta to switch the Ocean Spray
Cranberry plant on alternate days. There was only
a spur at Ocosta, so they had to back out the
branch to switch the plant.
The view includes the NP bridge to Aberdeen, over
the Chehalis river.

Ready for another days work in the Tacoma Yards
and local switch jobs, NP L-9s 1072, 1082 and
1083, sit in the morning sun. Also, a diesel
switcher and a class W 2-8-2 are seen in the
background. Taken with and Exacta camera. "TC"
left me his collection of railroad photos.

Northern Pacific L class 0-6-0 switch engines
were all over the place! Well liked by the men,
they served in yards, industrial spurs and even as
power on some branch lines.
