Bend Washington, circa 1925, was made
by my great uncle, Albert Discoe. At this
time he was the fireman on the Northern
Pacific passenger train between Centralia
and South Bend.
The Business District in White Salmon, like
so many small towns in America, back
around 1900, was mostly wooden
structures with false fronts. Note the bank
is more substantial, being of brick
construction, a bit less prone to burn!

B. C. Markham photo. Any guesses to
date? the road has a white line, but I
can find no automobiles in a full size
view. There are several billboards,
middle left, although they aren't quite
clear enough to make out.
